Our biggest tech festival – Techweek 19 - 27 May – is the perfect time to celebrate Suffrage 125 and the girls, women, and other marginalised gender coders who write much of Aotearoa's kick-ass code.
Open to secondary students. To enter, produce a piece of creative writing about an item in the collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library. Submissions may include Suffrage 125-related themes.
Exhibition on women from the Hutt who signed the Suffrage petition and those in local or central government (past and present) – including speakers, events for youth, an online exhibition and a wiki.
The Suffrage 125 celebration is being led by the Ministry for Women, New Zealand Minitatanga mō ngā Wahine in partnership with Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage.
