Celebration of ngā Wāhine Māori
The Ministry of Women’s Affairs recently handed back to whānau the photographs of Wāhine Māori taken as part of the 1995 Karanga: Nga Reo o ngā Wāhine Māori – Voices of Māori Women project. Whānau representatives of the 30 women featured came to Wellington to collect and return the photos to their whānau.
"This was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the taonga these women have contributed to our country,” said Jo Cribb, Ministry of Women’s Affairs’ Chief Executive.
“We look forward to sharing the photos and the voices of these women more widely on our website next year,” she said
