This exhibition marks 125 years since women achieved the right to vote, recalling the events leading up to the 1893 election, and exploring progress and change in the lives of women over 125 years.

Our heritage staff will be available all day to help you research the awesome wāhine in your life and you can make a rosette to commemorate 125 years of women achieving the vote.

Three Suffrage 125 Plaques are being installed to recognise the contributions of important Wellington Women. The first plaque commemorates broadcaster Maud Basham (Aunt Daisy).
