Growing your trades workforce
There is already a shortage of trade workers, and the demand for trades labour will continue to grow. Half the working age population is female, but only one percent of plumbers, electricians and carpenters/ joiners are women. It makes good business sense to think about how to attract women to your jobs. This handbook gives good practical advice to employers on how to attract women, and how to find women for their trade jobs. It is intended to stimulate employers’ thinking about workforce planning, the need to address skill shortages and to increase their workforce choices by attracting women for their trade jobs.
