Join the New Zealand Government Delegation to CSW

Manatū Wāhine Ministry for Women is seeking expressions of interest from interested individuals, academics, and representatives of non-government organisations to join the official New Zealand Government delegation to the 66th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) from 14th to 25th March 2022. The Ministry views this as a valuable opportunity to strengthen the government delegation as we expect the representatives to provide the delegation with high level advice on the priority theme from a non-government perspective.

CSW is the highest level international forum on gender equality and women’s empowerment, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York each year. You can find more information on CSW 66 here.

  • The priority theme for CSW66 is :‘Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes;

  • The review theme is: Women’s economic empowerment in the changing world of work (agreed conclusions of the sixty-first session)

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the New Zealand delegation will be attending CSW remotely via video link from Wellington. The successful applicants will need to base themselves in Wellington for the duration of the session. Attendance is dependent on any domestic COVID-19 restrictions that may be in place at the time.

All applicants will be assessed based on their individual merits, we encourage people of all genders and diverse backgrounds to apply. Two non-government delegates will be selected; one of these may be a tertiary student or early career delegate. Applicants are expected to address the criteria outlined in the  document below in their application letter and may add their resume to support their application.
