Join the New Zealand Government delegation to CSW64
The Ministry for Women is seeking expressions of interest from interested individuals, academics, and representatives of non-government organisations to join the official New Zealand Government delegation to the 64th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). The Ministry views this as a valuable opportunity to strengthen the government delegation as we expect the representative to provide the delegation with high level advice on the priority theme from a non-government perspective.
CSW is the highest level international forum on gender equality and women’s empowerment, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York each year. You can find more information on CSW64 here.
This year’s CSW will be slightly different from previous years; there will be no priority theme, rather, progress against the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action will be discussed throughout CSW64.
All applicants will be assessed based on their individual merits, we encourage people of all genders and diverse backgrounds to apply. One non-government delegate will be selected. Applicants are expected to address the criteria outlined in the document below in their application letter and may add their resume to support their application.
The initial selection process will be conducted by representatives from the International Women’s Caucus, Hellen Swales (Business and Professional Women and the non-government representative on the Government delegation to CSW63) and Helen Bowie (Zonta) who will present Government officials with up to three candidates for final selection.
Applications close on 8 November 2019, 5:00pm.
Please note that applications sent directly to the Ministry for Women will not be accepted.
