Whakatū wāhine — forging our future, heralding our history

In celebration of Suffrage 125 and recognition of International Women's Day, the Ministry for Women in partnership with Te Papa has convened a panel of amazing and inspirational women who have made significant contributions to furthering the rights of women and girls. Hosted by Megan Whelan of Radio New Zealand, confirmed panelists include Minister for Women, Julie Anne Genter, Charlotte Macdonald, Mele Wendt, Vanisa Dhiru and Georgina Beyer.

As we spend this auspicious Suffrage 125 year celebrating our historical accomplishments – from individual champions and leaders to our entire nation of Kiwi women – we are also looking to the future. How can we build on our past successes and the lessons of our rich history? How are we addressing the unique challenges that we face today? And what can we do to ensure a promising and empowered future for all New Zealand women, across all cultures, ages and social groups?

Join us for an afternoon of discussion and celebration as we call on all women to stand strong. Whakatū wāhine!
