The Ministry for Women's Four-Year Plan provides a snapshot in time of a department's strategic and medium-term planning.
For the first time the proportion of women on New Zealand state sector boards is above 45 percent, increasing from 43.4 percent in 2015 to 45.3 percent in 2016. This is the greatest annual increase since the Ministry began recording this data in 2004.
In March 2017, the Ministry for Women released the research, Empirical evidence of the gender pay gap in New Zealand, which looked at the causes of the gender pay gap in New Zealand.
