Manatū Wāhine, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade, co-hosted the Women in Export Aotearoa event at Parliament on Thursday, bringing together renowned experts and successful wāhine exporters to discuss the progress and challenges in the export industry.
The event featured insights from experts, including Jane Korinek, the lead on inclusive trade at OECD, and Urvashi Yadav from Business and Economic Research Limited (BERL), who shared important research and insights relating to women in export.
Minister for Women Jan Tinetti and Minister for Trade and Export Growth Damien O'Connor, spoke about our status and progress as a nation, and the wider opportunities in the export landscape in Aotearoa and abroad.
Attendees were fortunate to hear from successful wāhine in export, including Brooke Roberts from Sharesies, Chantelle Cole from Dinosaur Polo Club, and Karah Sutton from PikPok. They shared their real-world journeys, and the challenges and opportunities faced in the sector.
The event highlighted the importance of empowering women and breaking down barriers in the export industry, with speakers sharing valuable insights and stories of their own experiences.
