Manatū Wāhine Ministry for Women has led research with Netsafe on looking at young New Zealanders’ experiences of digital harm.
The digital harm qualitative research is the first in New Zealand to present young New Zealanders’ experiences of digital harm in their own words.
The research aims to better understand young people’s online behaviour and experiences of digital harm, provide a gendered understanding of digital harm, and identifies promising directions for providers to prevent and reduce digital harm, for parents and providers, schools and government.
On 5 June 2018, Netsafe and the Ministry for Women released further research focusing on statistical insights into experiences, impact, and response.
