Hon Jan Tinetti, Minister for Women, is seeking nominations for members of the National Advisory Council on the Employment of Women (NACEW).
NACEW’s purpose is to provide advice to the Minister for Women on employment issues for women. NACEW provides advice that assists the Minister and government in planning and delivering tangible results for New Zealand women by improving their employment outcomes. Members are selected based on their individual skills, expertise and networks, with the aim of providing a range of perspectives on the employment of women. We are seeking a diverse range of candidates including from Māori, Pacific, ethnic and disabled communities.
Candidates should have a high level of expertise on issues to do with pay transparency, the gender pay gap, small business, remuneration, human resources, payroll, data, and reporting/directors’ duties. This includes candidates with the following expertise or representation: union, large business, private and non-government sectors, and human rights. Additional skills and expertise could include:
- strategic thinking, a track record of results, and a focus on outcomes
- well-developed skills and experience in board or committee work
- connections and networks related to the employment of women; and demonstrated judgement and ability to work with and influence a range of people
- knowledge of mātauranga Māori, te ao Māori values and Te Tiriti of Waitangi
- ability to bring a specific perspective (for example Māori, Pacific, ethnic, rural, older, younger, disability, sole parent, business, LGBTIA+).
