About the guest speaker:

Carla Wellington manages the Crown Entity Monitoring and Appointments team at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. She has been involved in administering Crown board appointments since 2015 when she joined Treasury’s Appointments and Governance team. She has also worked in Crown entity monitoring and appointments at the Ministry for the Environment and Te Puni Kōkiri.

Prior to working in the public sector Carla worked in executive recruitment and before that as a commercial lawyer. She has held community board roles in education and iwi governance.
