A total of 123 not-for-profit organisations have been granted $1 million in government funding for community-led initiatives aimed at improving women and girls’ access to sport and active recreation activities to support their wider wellbeing.
Manatū Wāhine hosted an inspiring panel discussion in collaboration with the National Library of New Zealand on 6 June, as part of a range of commemorations to mark 130 years since women secured the right to vote in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Representation for women on public sector boards and committees is the highest it’s ever been with wāhine now making up 53.1 percent of public board and committee members,” Minister for Women Jan Tinetti said.
